The Ur-Genuss accommodation is located in the center of Heiterwang, just a few meters from the Heiterwang/Plansee train station, the bus stop and the village church. There is a tennis court in the village, which can be booked free of charge by guests of the Ur-Genuss.

Lake Heiterwanger See is a picturesque body of water that is ideal for swimming, boating and fishing. In summer, you can spend relaxing days by the water or explore the surrounding nature on the well-developed hiking trails. In winter, the lake turns into a paradise for cross-country skiers, ice skaters and ice bathers.

The Ur-Genuss accommodation is located directly on the Via Claudia Augusta cycle path and is the best starting point for your cycle tour. Numerous hiking trails also lead directly from the accommodation. So you are spoiled for choice as to whether you want to enjoy your time out at Ur-Genuss on the beautiful terrace or spend your day on your bike or on the numerous hiking trails in the mountains.

The Zugspitzarena offers you numerous hiking and cycling trails that lead through breathtaking landscapes. Whether leisurely walks or challenging mountain tours, whether bike tours on flat or steep terrain - there is something to suit every taste. There are also numerous opportunities for trail enthusiasts in the Zugspitzarena and Reutte Nature Park region.
I can particularly recommend a trip to the summit of the Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany. It is not far from the Ur-Genuss.
For the brave, the Highline 179, which is the longest Tibet-style pedestrian suspension bridge in the world, is only 4 km away. It is easily accessible on foot or by bike and offers the #blickmitkick .

The cross-country ski trail network with a total length of over 110 km, which is connected to all villages in the Tiroler Zugspitzarena, invites you to enjoy sporting activities.
You can enjoy various hiking trails and the magical winter landscape directly from Ur-Genuss with your snowshoes. You can also hike through the snow-covered forests in Heiterwang in winter with winter shoes. Enjoy the breathtaking tranquillity and snowy landscape.

In winter, the Zugspitzarena offers a wide range of opportunities for winter sports enthusiasts. From skiing and snowboarding on perfectly groomed slopes to snowshoe hikes and tobogganing - the region is a true Eldorado for winter sports enthusiasts.
Culture and history in the surrounding area
Just a few kilometers from Heiterwang lies Reutte, a charming little town with a rich cultural heritage. Here you can tour historic buildings, visit museums and relax in cozy cafés. The Klause Ehrenberg, an impressive fortress perched high above Reutte, is particularly worth a visit.
The Tyrolean side of the mountain has an eventful history - and those interested can experience it interactively at almost 3,000 meters.
Did you know that the guild church in Bichlbach is the only one of its kind in the whole of Austria? If you're ever in the area, you should pay a visit to the guild museum
The Ehrenberg castle area is a must-see for history buffs and is located just 4 km from the accommodation. The impressive ruins of the medieval Ehrenberg Castle, perched high above the valley, offer a fascinating insight into times gone by.

In summer, Fort Claudia can be hiked along a beautiful path from Heiterwang. A breathtaking hiking tour with many different impressions awaits you.
